fertilizer

January 2013

Untitled 2In cooperation with the Bio Nuclear Agriculture Research Institute, Safi Sana Ghana ltd will continue to do research on further optimization of the organic fertilizer and production processes. In 2012 we have finalised a first step in defining the preferred fertiliser product for our local customer. In 2013 we focus on making the product and processes ready for the market entry in the course of the year. Within the Safi Sana team we have two people full-time working on product development and marketing and sales.

September 2011

The construction of our research lab in cooperation with the Bio Nuclear Agriculture Reseach Institute, has reached its final stage. In two weeks we expect to open our second treatment site. At our first site we currently collect various liquid and organic wastes for anaerobic treatment and production of biogas. The sludge is post-treated at our co-composting site in collaboration with BNARI for the production of organic fertilizer.

In cooperation with our partner BNARI we are preparing the site for post-treatment of the effluent in order to make a organic fertilizer that is needed in the market. The direction of that product development process will also be based on the outcome of the market survey done by IFDC.

In cooperation with our partner IFDC, we have started the survey on the market potential for a organic fertilizer in the local market. The research will discuss technological, socio/cultural and economic matters that are related to the development and marketing of this product. In June 2011 we expect to have a good picture on the current market status and preferred product/market combination.
