The collection of waste from the local area and making the right mix for treatment, is a critical success factor in our model. We need both good quality and quantity for our different waste resources. In cooperation with IFDC we are conducting a survey that is focusing at various aspects that are related to the viability of the collection in our target area. In our pilot we are testing various mixes of different types of waste (e.g. toilet waste, fruit and vegetable waste and slaughter waste) on the quality and impact they have on our output, both biogas and the organic fertilizer.

In cooperation with our partner BNARI we are preparing the site for post-treatment of the effluent in order to make a organic fertilizer that is needed in the market. The direction of that product development process will also be based on the outcome of the market survey done by IFDC.

In cooperation with our partner IFDC, we have started the survey on the market potential for a organic fertilizer in the local market. The research will discuss technological, socio/cultural and economic matters that are related to the development and marketing of this product. In June 2011 we expect to have a good picture on the current market status and preferred product/market combination.
