Data Analyst


Safisana Ghana, located in Adjei Kojo, Ashaiman, is seeking to hire a full-time Data Analyst who will be responsible for generating, organizing, and interpreting diverse forms of data and presenting it in an informative and comprehensible manner.

Safisana has developed a circular business model for local waste treatment for governments, utilities, and food processing industries. In the Safisana recycling plant, we turn organic waste and faecal sludge into high-value products: renewable energy (biogas and electricity), organic fertilizer, and irrigation water.

responsible for generating, organizing, and interpreting diverse forms of data and presenting it in an informative and comprehensible manner.

The potential candidate needs to possess strong analytical skills and a solid understanding of data
systems, since their responsibilities involve collecting, interpreting, and analyzing data, together with other analytics within a manufacturing business environment.

Overview 

Safisana Ghana is currently in search of an experienced data analyst who will play a crucial role in providing data-driven insights to the organization's decision-makers. This position entails overseeing the implementation of various data projects, researching data management resources, and carrying out ongoing data analysis of processes and procedures to improve operational efficiency. 

The Data Analyst will be responsible for developing data dashboards for internal use, fostering strong relationships with other experts in the fields of energy, environment, sanitation, and health who specialize in data management, as well as offering technical assistance and recommendations needed.

Responsibilities

1. Data Collection & Management

  • Gather and upload data from multiple internal systems (eg, production, finance, HR, CRM) and external sources.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date databases or spreadsheets and actively address data errors and gaps with the responsible colleagues.
  • Ensure data integrity through regular cleaning, validation, and quality control.
  • Build and maintain data dashboards and repositories for ease of access.
  • Ensure compliance with the existing Data Infrastructure and recommend tools, processes, or integrations to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.

2.  Data Analysis & Interpretation

  • Analyze operational, financial, and environmental data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement. 
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across production, sales, waste treatment, energy output, fertilizer distribution, and impact.
  • Perform variance analysis against targets or budgets.

3. Reporting & Visualization

  • Generate routine and ad hoc reports for management and department heads.
  • Create charts, dashboards, and data visualizations (e.g, in Excel, Power BI, Tableau) and on.
  • Translate complex data findings into clear, actionable insights for decision-makers.

4. Support Strategic Planning

  • Provide data-driven input for business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Support proposal development and investor reporting with relevant data.
  • Help assess the impact of strategic initiatives, including climate resilience and circular economy metrics.

5. Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work with operations, finance, sales, and SHEQ teams to identify data needs and reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Netherlands-based team for group-level reporting and consolidation.
  • Support internal audits and compliance with data-related standards.

6. System and Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate data workflows or improve data systems.
  • Recommend tools, processes, or integrations to increase efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Provide support for IT upgrades such as new laptops, serves, IT network, and implementation & trouble shooting of data exchange with existing and new manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist in the digital transformation of operations where applicable.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in data analytics, computer science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in a data analysis/management or business intelligence role or any related field.
  • A strong analytical and extensive experience in the industry in which we operate

Skills / Abilities

  • Working knowledge of statistical methodologies, data analysis techniques, data management, dashboards, modelling, querying, and workflows. 
  • Must have knowledge in statistical methods, SQL language, and Database Administration, and experience with some other languages, especially Python.
  • Understands best practices of analytical techniques, engages in organized information gathering, understands cross-functional requirements, and can present findings to all levels of management.
  • Experience and comfort in working with various database software and web-based reporting.
  • Data generation and collection, cleaning and Preprocessing, analysis, visualization, modeling, and data quality assurance.
  • Collaborative Decision-Making.
  • Experience in continuous Learning and Improvement.
  • Knowledgeable in Data Privacy and Security.
  • Demonstrate a level of independence in driving analysis.
