The Global Recycling Day Foundation was founded by Ranijt S Baxi in 2018. Every year, they host a worldwide competition for organizations and individuals who champion recycling, promote sustainability and contribute to the fight against climate change.

Celebrating Global Recycling Day with Safisana
On March 18th, Safisana hosted an educational event, inviting a group of schoolchildren from Ashaiman to visit our recycling plant. By raising awareness about recycling and sustainable waste management, we motivate the youth to become advocates for environmental sustainability.
About 70 schoolchildren, 10 teachers and educational representatives, and Ashaiman’s Education Director participated in this year’s event at Safisana’s plant. Some schoolchildren engaged with Safisana already during World Toilet Day and Stronger Together with Plan International Ghana. Moreover, we believe that through continued involvement, we can truly make a difference. With practical education on sustainability, students can positively contribute to the Ashaiman community, creating a cleaner, safer, and healthier place for the next generations.
By organizing hands-on learning experiences outside the classroom, we create an understanding of sustainability and provide real-world insight into the role recycling plays in improving community well-being. Further, through a guided tour and interactive sessions, the students enhanced their knowledge of how responsible waste management directly impacts their surroundings.
Not only UTV but also TV3 Ghana, BFt online, and Onua TV daily report featured Safisana's GRD celebration on their platforms.
